Whenever I visit friend's houses for the 1st time, I'm always interested to see what their taste in interior decoration is like. In fact , I may know their personalities and what clothes they choose to wear, but the rest is a total poser. So it is always exposing to find that they may have flying ducks up the wall or purple flowered wallpaper on the loo ceiling, as an example. When I expect a house to be ultra modern, with plastic and chrome all over the place, it'll regularly turn out that the home is crammed full of antique plates or collections of pig ornaments. It never fails to stun me. What I do doggedly find though, is that most people have at least one or two engraved items which are proudly displayed around the house for everyone to see and admire.
